See you
While working on the series of more than 150 portraits, I asked myself:
What is it that draws me to choose one person over another? Is it physical features, certain cultural or social aesthetics inbred in us or planted over lifetime? Or is it what we are lacking in ourselves, which we so desperately search for in others?…Perhaps, some energy opens our eyes to the essence of certain people in particular—for a moment in time they become simply ’beautiful souls’, who enrich our hearts with just being here and now, and for that same unexplained reason we just have to see them…feel them inside out. Or maybe, just maybe we want someone else…to see us for everything that we are…and for no apparent reason at all…
